Sim1c bus9/11/2023 Staten Island Railway (SIR) will operate on a normal schedule. “We are prepared to help customers get to and from Staten Island safely and efficiently during this Staten Island Ferry service disruption,” said MTA Acting Chief Customer Officer, Shanifah Rieara. “The MTA will be communicating our bolstered service through social media, across digital screens, our website, along with additional staff present at the ferry terminal to direct riders to the route that’s best for them.” “Adjustments have been made to bus and train schedules where possible at the City’s request to assist in getting people home to Staten Island during the afternoon rush period,” said New York City Transit Chief Operating Officer Craig Cipriano. “We recognize the fluid nature of the situation and the MTA is doing what it can to assist commuters who might otherwise become stranded due to reduced ferry options.” Limited service is suspended on all SI local routes (except for S93 and S89). Customers can continue their journey to Staten Island by taking the S79 SBS, S53 or S93 bus where service will be augmented as necessary. Increased service will be provided on the SIM1/SIM1C (Hylan Blvd), SIM3/SIM3C (Port Richmond) and SIM4/SIM4C (Richmond Avenue).Ĭustomers can take a Brooklyn-bound R train from Whitehall St-South Ferry to 86th St and 4 Av in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Customers are advised to be prepared for potential crowding along these routes. MTA will add additional staffing to alleviate potential crowding and direct riders to alternative routes.
